If we’re lucky the Metro Manila Film Festival won’t ruin the regular screening of this movie and we’ll be able to watch this one before the year ends. Of course I’m talking about the second installment of the Robert Downy Jr. and Jude Law “bro-mance”, Sherlock Holmes 2! In this sequel Holmes is pitted against his literary arch nemesis, the equally brilliant yet sinister, Professor Moriarty who is played by Jared Harris (Fringe, Madmen).

In the first film, we were slightly introduced to Moriarty but as the shadowy handler behind Rachel McAdam’s character Irene Adler. This time, it seems Moriarty steps out of the shadows to confront Holmes in a battle of wits that would have catastrophic repercussions (also a fancy way of saying a lot of explosions…BOOM!).

Although checking the interwebs for a more concrete release date, we’re pegging (and praying) that Sherlock Holmes is released side-by-side with Mission Impossible 4 which is slated on December 16, 2011.

Update: Sherlock Holmes will hit theaters in the Philippines this SUNDAY, January 8, 2012.
