The folks over at Square-Enix have just announced the sequel to the underrated mobile game Final Fantasy Legends, renamed as Final Fantasy Dimensions for the international market.

While the earlier mobile game was buy-to-play, Final Fantasy Legends II looks like it’ll be coming out as a free-to-play title for Android and iOS devices.

Like most Final Fantasy “freemium” mobile games, FF Legends II will be featuring a new setting with all your favorite franchise characters joining in for a huge mash-up.

Final Fantasy Legends II will be helmed again by Takashi Tokita, the director of the first Legends game, also known for his work as Parasite Eve and Chrono Trigger’s director.

Currently, FF Legends II is only aimed for the Japanese region, with a pre-registration campaign undergoing. No Western release window has been announced yet, but you can expect the game to definitely hit the international market in the months to come.

Meanwhile, if you’re already itching to get your Final Fantasy fix, here are some alternatives currently out right now for mobile platforms:

Mobius Final Fantasy (3D, card/deck-building action hybrid)
Final Fantasy Record Keeper (2D, classic turn-based)
Final Fantasy: Brave Exvius (2D, Brave Frontier gameplay)
