Super Mario Run Shows Up on the Play Store

Super Mario Run Shows Up on the Play Store

If you’re a little sad that Super Mario Run has only been available for iOS so far, then let this little bit of news turn that frown upside down. The page for Nintendo’s first foray into mobile gaming has been spotted on the Play Store and may soon be available on Android devices around the world. Sadly, it’s only available for pre-registration for now; meaning you’ll get a notification once it does become available or maybe even get an early look. Since its release to the iOS App Store on December 15, revenues for the gaming app starring the world’s most famous goomba squashing plumber has then started to taper off, but still remains to be the most downloaded free app.

As a reminder, the game is free to download, but there is a steep asking price of $10 (or roughly Php 496) to access all the world’s available in the game. It’s pending availability on Android will, of course, bolster its numbers but for how long? Other than the steep price to experience the game in its entirety, Super Mario Run is an online-only game; making it a tough draw for budget conscious consumers who keep a close eye on their data cap. It has also been reported that Nintendo has no plans to add-on to Super Mario Run in the near future so its replay value may not make it worth it in the first place; unless, of course, you plan to go extremely competitive on its leaderboards.

Are you psyched to play Super Mario Run on your Android device? Will you be paying to unlock the entire game? Let us know in the comment section.
