The Adventures of Tintin (December 2011)

Peter Jackson and Steven Spielberg are teaming up to bring one of the most beloved “accidental detective” – Tintin! A lot of rumors have been going around about this but it was only recently confirmed that we will see The Adventures of Tintin on the big screen. They’re doing the film in 3D animation and the quality reminds me of the top caliber CGI trailers that you see on video games. I personally find it amazing that technology has reached a point where anything in our imagination can be brought to life in the movies.

We can see that the art direction taken by the Spielberg/Jackson combo is inspired by the comic book it originated from. The color motif and 3D rendition is just spectacular based on the stills and the trailer. You know – the actors kinda look like them and yet not.

Synopsis
The Adventures of Tintin: The Secret of the Unicorn is about how Tintin and his friends discover directions to a sunken ship commanded by Capt. Haddock’s ancestor and they go off on a treasure hunt. It’s pretty straightforward with the official description but I’m sure there are a lot of twists and turns in the plot.

The movie stars Jamie Bell as Tintin, Andy Serkis as Captain Haddock, Simon Pegg and Nick Frost as Inspector Thomson and Thomson and Daniel Craig as Red Rackham. Official worldwide release is December 23, 2011 but I have a bad feeling that we’ll see this January due to the Metro Manila Film Festival.
