ASUS Transformer Book T100: Game Changer Laptop Hybrid

ASUS took the wraps of a product which we believe can be a game changer for the PC laptop market. Dubbed as the ASUS Transformer Book T100, this 10.1-inch laptop-tablet hybrid is powered by the new Intel Atom “Bay Trail” quad-core processor. This chip is optimized for long lasting battery life (up to 11 hours) and runs on Windows 8.1. It’s also quite a compact and portable product weighing in at just 1.07kg with the keyboard and 550g as a tablet. While those specs are impressive what’s really nice is the price. The 64GB model was announced with an SRP of $399 USD. That’s a killer price that will completely disrupt the market. Knowing the Philippines though we’ll probably get it double that (hehe). Maybe around Php20,000-Php25,000 because of all the taxes that we have locally.

Here’s the complete spec rundown:

ASUS Transformer Book T100 Spec Sheet

  • Intel Atom Bay Trail-T Z3740 Quad-core Processor
  • 2GB RAM
  • Intel HD Graphics
  • 32GB or 64GB Internal Storage Options, expandable via MicroSD
  • 10.1-inch IPS Panel, 1366×768 Display Resolution
  • HDMI, USB 3.0, Micro USB Ports
  • 11 Hours Battery LIfe
  • Pre-installed with Microsoft Office Home & Student 2013

This is probably one of the, if not the best value-for-money portable budget-friendly laptop tablet hybrids. During the event ASUS announced it will be available in selected markets starting October. We’re hoping that the PH is already included in the first wave of countries to receive it. Sakto sa “Ber” months!

Congratulations ASUS on a spectacular product and we hope to see this in our shores soon!

The question is, would there be any shortcoming in this device especially on the hardware? i would personally say that Asus is bad in terms of after sale support.

Well, I bought Vivotab Smart but the optional cover/keyboard is nowhere to be found even at Asus store. Sucks big time! They could not provide me with any information on when they would sell them. At least itong T100 eh kasama na yata sa package ang keyboard dock.
